I seem to be picking on religion a lot lately I guess it is an easy target as it has so many holes in it and so many people have Blind Faith, in a  Book Called  The Bible.
The English word "Bible" is from the Latin word biblia meaning "the books".... This simply means that a Bible is a gathering or collection of "books" (as in : the books OF the Bible).

A Collection of 66 books written by Humans 44 of them so it intrigues me.

 

 When was the Bible written? It was written over a period of some 1,500 years, from around 1450 B.C. (the time of Moses) to about 100 A.D. (following the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ).

The Bible was written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit       or should we say there human perspective of the Holy Spirit.
by over 40 different authors from all walks of life: shepherds, farmers, tent-makers, physicians, fishermen, priests, philosophers and kings. Despite these differences in occupation and the span of years it took to write it, the Bible is an extremely cohesive and unified book.
It is made up of Old Testament and New Testament and the word Testament means "covenant" or "contract." Hmm I wonder a contract between Church and people, Church and state. Keep you in line and control you and lets face it the church back then was the first form of Government. You donated Tax dollars in this contract.

I also think about it on a simpler platform just as a common human being  and I think about life and purpose and rules for living a good life. Also there is the whole, " is there something more" and the whole life after death promise, who wouldn't wonder is there something more out there.
Thoughts to ponder but no proof.
What amazes me is not the amount of normal people or the number of actual books combine that contributed and was turned into one book the Bible but how a society of people spread over the planet with no Internet or mass communication devises were able and willing to give the bible so much power over them as individuals and so many people world wide. The tools they used were fear mainly & if you were good, Heaven when your dead. Was it Devinne or Corrupt or just a necessity at the time to bring a unruly people to order and create a safer place to live. We're we as a people              ( people of earth )         unable to do this on our own.
                                    

One thing I do know is the imagination of real human beings created this text, it's not mystical in any way shape or form. Is it amazing and creative and was it useful then and in some cases now. YES.

 You also have to remember it evolved some and in its time of origin or as it was being written the information was from the writers human perspective based on his or her working knowledge of the world and the universe. The personal one and the stars and planets or the earth as a whole entity.
So this sheds some light on the current translations in a multitude of publishing's and versions over time.

Wouldn't it be cool to have a new book an ever changing scripture based on Love and human compassion. Everyone on the planet gets to contribute to it as it is always changing and learning and we all just take out the positive things that can help us be better people individually unique and god like in our selves.


We kind of do have such a thing it's called the Internet. You just need to not get overwhelmed by all the information and you must have your own built in Spam Filter to keep the crap out of your brain.. Lol
